Trianz DataVision+ Named the ‘Testing Tool of the Year’ at the ‘India Testing Awards 2015’

Trianz enables business and technology leaders in the formulation and execution of operational strategies. Trianz practices such as Business Digitization, Analytics & Information Management, Cloud Enterprise Solutions, Cloud Infrastructure Management and Enterprise Mobility help leaders in various business operations and their IT counterparts leverage technology paradigms to transform their organizational capabilities. The QA and Testing Services Practice at Trianz offers a wide range of independent verification and validation services to clients. The emphasis is on Business Outcome Assurance rather than just limiting to a set of project-specific metrics.

India Testing Awards recognizes those organizations and practitioners that have stepped away from legacy tools and processes to create testing programs that define the future of IT software development, services and support. UNICOM, a global training company, is the primary organizer, and KPMG has moderated the event and lead the jury. The awards assessment was done considering the aspects of measurable impact on business objectives, testing methods used, innovative tools and techniques, and customer centricity. Prominent winners in other categories include Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Manhattan Associates, Wipro, ISRO and others.

The award-winning tool, Trianz DataVision+, significantly simplifies the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) verification process and delivers actionable results at the click of a button. Dynamic business shifts are requiring enterprises to deal with large heterogeneous data, and it is essential to ensure the accuracy of this data. The accuracy can be achieved with strong verification and validation of the EDW, which is very tedious, complex, and error-prone activity. To address these challenges, based on its experience and passion towards quality, the Trianz team has envisioned and built DataVision+. Trianz DataVision+ essentially automates data verification between the source table and the target table. Usage of Trianz DataVision+ on various projects has shown a reduction in design and execution time to the tune of 60% to 80%; which is achieved by near 100% accuracy in data verification.

Speaking on the occasion, Sambuddha Deb, Head of IT Services at Trianz, said, “What started as an idea to deliver measurable business impact to our clients has now taken shape into an award-winning and valuable data analysis platform for conventional and big-data initiatives – we are indeed very happy, and would like to express our appreciation to UNICOM, the organizers, the jury and all the sponsors of the event.”

Murugavel Rajamanoharan, QA & Testing Services Practice head at Trianz, expressed, “Delivering client-centric innovation has always been a key driver for us. The testing practice team at Trianz has consistently focused on achieving this through various initiatives. Our practice and its leaders played a key role, and I commend them. I would also like to thank several clients who helped in conceptualization and brainstorming as well as piloting the platform. We look forward to more such success.”

Nitesh Naveen, Founder and CEO of UNICOM Learning, commented, “We received an overwhelming response for the prestigious India Testing Awards 2015, and I congratulate Trianz for a resounding win. I thank KPMG for moderating the awards and also thank all the jury members for their thorough evaluation while adhering to the highest quality and integrity standards.”

LDRA Receives VDC Research Embeddy Award at ESC Silicon Valley

LDRA, the leader in standards compliance, automated software verification, source code analysis, and test tools, today announced that Version 9.5 of its LDRA tool suite has received the VDC Research Embeddy Award at ESC Silicon Valley. The award was presented during the conference’s ACE Awards ceremony to the company whose product announcement at the show is considered to contribute the most significant news for the embedded systems industry.

LDRA focuses on helping customers in safety- and security-critical markets such as avionics, automotive, rail, medical, and industrial systems where software failure can result in physical harm or death. In these markets, companies rely increasingly on software to provide additional functionality and adaptability, which has expanded code complexity and boosted code size to millions of lines. The increase in complexity and code size, along with demands to rush to market and immature software practices, has led to software failures that have resulted in recalls, litigation, physical harm, and even death.

For more than 40 years, LDRA has specialized in functional safety, helping companies create software that is safe and secure. LDRA tools provide both process and technology that automates the analysis and verification of software, shortening the path to and reducing the cost of certification even under the most rigorous software safety and security standards.

At ESC, LDRA spoke of its long-standing focus on functional safety and security and unique enabling technologies that help silicon and RTOS partners, as well as customers, produce high-assurance applications. LDRA Version 9.5 provides updates that further automate manual processes and provide easy-to-use visibility into the relationships among software artifacts at all stages of the software development life cycle from requirements through verification. Version 9.5 increases scalability, enabling development and verification data to be shared across global organizations. Furthermore, Version 9.5 simplifies the process of addressing the dependency requirements of Linux platform development and verification.

“In the 9.5 release, LDRA further extends performance of the LDRA tool suite by improving Linux support and by introducing a clear ‘Uniview’ function to help users visualize software components and development artifacts,” commented André Girard, VDC Research’s Senior Analyst of IoT & Embedded Technologies. “But since advances in functionality are less valuable if the solution is hard to use, we feel advances to both functionality and usability in this release of the LDRA tool suite are particularly important.”

“Certifying systems requires software quality and verification tools that can address the need for increased scalability, process automation, and improved visibility into the relationships among software artifacts,” said Ian Hennell, LDRA Operations Director. “With Version 9.5, we address all of those needs, helping developers save time and make better, more informed decisions.”

The LDRA tool suite offers verification support across the full development life cycle from certification objectives of standards, such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, EN 50128, and IEC 62304, to requirements, design, code, and testing, both on the host and the target platforms.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to receive Champion of Change award from Obama

WASHINGTON: US president Barack Obama plans to honour Microsoft’s Indian-origin CEO Satya Nadella with the Champions of Change award for bringing about change within his company to support working families.

“Microsoft recently announced that over the next year it will make changes to ensure that a wide variety of suppliers that do business with Microsoft in the US provide at least 15 days of paid leave each year to employees who handle Microsoft work,” the White House said as it announced the names of recipients of the Champions of Change Award.

Before being named CEO in February 2014, 47-year-old Nadella held leadership roles in both enterprise and consumer businesses across the company.

Joining Microsoft in 1992, he quickly became known as a leader who could span a breadth of technologies and businesses to transform some of Microsoft’s biggest product offerings.

Originally from Hyderabad, he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mangalore University, a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.
